On July 22, 2021, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported that a median home value price was $363,300 in June of 2021 rose 23.4% from the price of $294,400 in June of 2020.
Single family home sales were at annual rate of 5.14 million units in June of 2021 gained 1.4% from the annual rate of 5.07 million home sales in May of 2021, and up 19.3% from home sales in June of 2020. The median single family home price was $370,600 in June of 2021, increased 24.4% from June of 2020.
Condominium and co-op sales were higher to an annual rate of 720,000 units in June of 2021 from May of 2021, and jumped 56.5% from June of 2020. Median existing condo price was $311,600 in June of 2021, soar 19.1% from June of 2020.
Distressed homes sales were 1.0% in June of 2021 same as from 1.0% in May of 2021, but lower from 3.0% in June of 2020.
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, stated "Huge wealth gains from both housing equity and the stock market have nudged up all-cash transactions, but first-time buyers who need mortgage financing are being uniquely challenged with record-high home prices and low inventory,"
