Buy a vowel . . .
Rocky Dickerson always come up with some interesting blogs and this is one of them again.
My mom loves Wheel of Fortune. One of the things you can do is “Buy a vowel”. By buying a vowel, the person playing the game gets a clue about what the answer may be. Often think of that what I run across a clueless person. In my mind, I think “Get a clue – buy a vowel”.
I see a person time and time again. Someone who talks about their intelligence. They talk about their wisdom. And yet somehow, this person doesn’t understand how people view them as negative. They actually have no clue how people avoid them.
And yet when they interact on social media, it is amazing how often they leave comments on a post to say how they don’t like that or how they disagree or how they have an opposing point of view. Someone could say that they met Brad Pitt yesterday and had a wonderful conversation for two hours at an Italian restaurant. This person would reply something like “I don’t care for the taste of garlic”. Everyone else may be asking questions about a great experience, and yet this person has to pee on the poster’s Cheerios.
And that is the point. We all need to be aware. Sometimes we all need to get a clue and buy a vowel. Okay perhaps not as often as that other person, and still, we are all there from time to time. We need to ask ourselves, “Should I disagree with them, or should I just keep my mouth shut?”, “Should I tell them I don’t care for the taste of Garlic or be engaging and ask about the conversation?”
So, today, are you aware – or do you need to buy a vowel?
