Have you ever had one of those days, where you wanted to enjoy a simple but tasty seafood meal – one without fanfare?
When I first awakened this morning, I found our Sacramento area temperatures had dropped significantly. And, it was overcast! At 5:30 am, I couldn’t determine if this was a new weather pattern moving in, or instead it was smoke from our Northern California wildfires. One thing for certain, when I asked my soul if it wanted to do our usual early morning swimming at the health club, the answer was a resounding, “No!”
So, instead the morning was spent tidying up storage shelves in the garage. And, there were other tasks accomplished as well!
As the noon hour approached, I had memories of a simple, but pleasant lunch enjoyed last week. It came from our local Tugboat Fish and Chips, at 10861 Folsom Blvd., in Rancho Cordova. I decided last week’s lunch experience deserved a ditto.
For less than $10.00 you can order up Tugboat’s 8 Prawn Dinner with Chips (fries). After bringing my order home, I paired it with sips from a Dos Equis Amber. I found those sips while dipping the prawns in cocktail sauce and the fries to catsup, kept the beat of the Dire Straits song - "The Bug." “Sometimes You’re the Windshield – Sometimes You’re the Bug.”
Even my cat Reuben, seemed to enjoy his prawn bites with the music playing. There’s nothing left to do now, but join him for a relaxing afternoon nap! Happy Thursday, Everybody!
