I remember Ted. Ted was dealt a “bad hand” in life. With physical challenges and psychological challenges he faced after serving our country, he rented a room from his sister. This dark room had been his home for a few years.
But then his sister told him the news. She was moving. And he was not welcome to come with her. When I spoke with him, he was distraught and wondering if he could find another friendly person to rent a room from. I had a different idea.
I got him to talk to a lender and we discovered that he could actually qualify to own his own condo. This man that had been in pain in every conversation we had taken part in was now elated. He was crying, but now they were tears of joy. We found him the home that he could call his own. I watched that man transform.
There are times where we just don’t know the positive impact we can make on someone’s life just by doing our job a little bit harder. By going that extra step.
