It is easy to let the day go by without finding something to be grateful for. This sunflower caught my eye and I just had to pull my car over to appreciate the gifts of nature.
No matter what happens in winter or spring when the sunflowers grow, I know they endure the same weather challenges as humans.
How could you ignore a big sunflower in the sky with puffy white clouds and a blue heavenly background? Sweetness comes to heart whenever I see sunflowers.
Remembrance of hope, struggles, rain, sun, wind, and drought come out in plain view and the end result is beautiful. In all seasons of life there are challenges to overcome. A sunflower is a good example of strong resistance and perseverance.
There's something about sunflowers and poets that can put things into proper perspective and suddenly, I'm at peace. As the poet e.e. cummings said: "to be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night, and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting."
The attractiveness of a simple sunflower can change your mind, attitude, and feelings about life. These past several weeks have been a challenge for me. I'm only human. It took a sunflower to put a smile on my face and I hope it inspires you too ---original content & photo by Patricia Feager on August 21, 2021.
