My wild guess is that most people are still waiting for their first vacation trip. I have heard of family visits to check on elderly relatives or to see new grand children, but most people have not been traveling too much. Abroad may be especially challenging due to all the different rules for travel.

I haven't had a trip since October 2019... been home all along. But your post reminded me of the days when I lived in Paris... and coming home meant coming home to Paris.
