I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend and the time off? from the daily grind. It has been a vey interesting year looking in my rear view mirror and the view looking forward needs to get better. The last few weeks have been trying for most Americans. Monday is the traditional celebration of Labor Day and lest we forget.
The reason for the holiday as expressed by the History Channel.
Labor Day 2021 will occur on Monday, September 6. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, street parades and athletic events.
So this weekend and especially is a "workingmans" holiday. I know this term is not politically correct in these times but that is just a short explanation of how far we have come as a nation. We change on a daily basis but hopefully this weekend will give us time to reflect on where we have been and we we need to go without the violence that might be present but was there during those first celebrations of this working persons holiday.
