Strong Seller Market Continues in
Door County, WI Real Estate
As of this writing in mid-September, it's still a strong Seller's market in Door County, Wisconsin. Remember just a few years ago when we had excess inventory, especially for vacant land? Those days appear to be over, at least for the foreseeable future.
According to the Door County Multiple Listing Service, August 2021 brought 97 sales north of Sturgeon Bay, excluding Washington Island. This would have included homes, condominiums, vacant land and commercial properties. This would not necessary include anything For Sale by Owner unless it was recorded in the Door County MLS by a member that sold a For Sale by Owner.
In contrast, the month of August only produced 52 new listings, according to Door County MLS data. So demand is greatly exceeding supply, and many new listings are coming on market as "pending"---the listing office has already found a buyer for the listing before it is entered into the MLS.
