Peachtree City is located in Fayette County between Newnan to the East, Atlanta & Tyrone to the North, Senoia to the South and Fayetteville to the West. The current population is more than 6 times what it was back in the 80's and it continued to explode in growth through the 90's and early 2000's to it's present population of around 37,000. Some may disagree with my analysis on amount of cars on the roads, but during my visit today I was driving in after school rush hour and traffic really wasn't an obstacle at all, in fact I marveled at how smoothly it flowed. I think what really makes Newnan-Peachtree City-Senoia area attractive as part of the metro Atlanta area, is it's lack of extreme congestion that you might find in other parts of the metro. Moreover the city is really known for it's golf courses, (owing it's beginnings to planner Joel Cowan in 1959 and thank goodness he had the foresight and wherewithal to get it done because in my opinion it's one of the coolest characteristics of the area) and more than one hundred miles of golf cart trails allowing for residents to get just about anywhere without having to get in a car and so getting around here is super easy.
Another thing you notice is the lack of billboards, and ugly commercial sign clutter. It's a very classy almost resort like community. Peachtree city has 5 golf courses, and several nice lakes including Lake Peachtree, offering recreational opportunities for residents and of course waterfront properties.
In 1957, Flat Creek was dammed to create Lake Peachtree. I don't know the exact amount of homes on the lake, however I ran a search for market data and Medium Sold Price (past 3 months as of 9/20/2021) is $1,157.00 with a med. cost p/sq. ft. $229.65. (All data from Georgia MLS)
The lake is circled by a paved golf cart path, and there are several parks including the one where I shot these pictures at Battery Way. 
As a whole, the overall market of Peachtree City gives us a current (past 3 months of sold prices) medium price of $437,500.00 with 5 days on market. Housing inventory is tight with absorption rates giving us about two thirds of a month worth of housing supply. In contrast to the lake front cost per sq. ft., the overall cost per sq. ft. is $187.91.
Peachtree City also has lots of shopping, recreational centers, and a really great location. There are three major public High Schools in the area, and several private schools. It's about a half hour from the Atlanta Airport. Homes range in sizes and price of course, but what you will find is clean well maintained homes, neighborhoods, and subdivisions all clustered around golf courses, lakes and trails. It's a very well planned out community and I've found the people to be quite friendly as a rule.
