Can’t you see I am falling for you.
Thank you Joseph Domino 480-390-6011 for your original blog.
Fall is upon us. It will arrive officially at 12:21 pm on September 22.
Fall is a season of transition. It is a time when the days grow shorter, and the weather begins to change. The long hot days of summer will soon be behind us. Here in Phoenix the change will be subtle. The average high temperature will drop to below 100 degrees for the first time in months. With cooler days ahead. Up north you will wake up to cool mornings where you can see your breath on your early morning walk.
In many parts of the country the trees will begin to change, creating a colorful palette. Soon the leaves will fall signaling the onset of winter.
We are not blessed with the changing of color here in Phoenix. We have to go up into the mountains to witness that phenomenon. Instead, we are graced with the return of the snowbirds. In the next few weeks, we will be reunited with many old friends who come to the valley to escape the long hard winter up north.
This week my wife asked me to get out the ladder and change the summer wreath on our door to the fall version. In the next few days, I will clean off the patio and rearrange the furniture so we can enjoy our morning coffee with a mountain view. Our afternoon cocktails with friends on the patio will not be far behind.
By the time my October birthday rolls around the air conditioning will be off, we will slide the windows open wide, and the electric bill will drop to reasonable amount.
It is time again to start hiking, biking, and outdoor dining. Fall, the time when we remember why we moved here. The next few months the weather will be glorious.
It is fair to say that I am falling for fall.
