2021 San Diego Restaurant Week

Sept. 26 – Oct. 3

Food lovers throughout San Diego will be thrilled with the upcoming San Diego Restaurant Week starting in just a few days. The big kick off is Sunday September 26th and the event runs through Sunday October 3rd.

San Diegans can dine on a wide array of food offerings at great prices at over 180+ restaurants all around San Diego! How can a dedicated food lover go wrong with this many options?!

San Diego Restaurant Week is all about reduced prices on fixed price menus at lunch, brunch (not all venues offer brunch) and dinner covering a wide geographic area – downtown, inland/East County, and to the north in our coastal cities including Carlsbad (3 restaurants) and  Oceanside (2 restaurants).

Prices vary for multiple courses, and as you would expect dinner prices are higher than lunch; lunch prices with 2 courses range from $10 to $25; dinner prices range from $20 to $60 for 3 courses. It would be hard to go wrong with these offerings!

San Diego Restaurant week is a terrific opportunity to check out the restaurants you might not ordinarily dine at, and explore other eateries you’ve heard about but haven’t yet tried. Restaurants will offer their normal menus, too, in case you are interested in that instead.

You should probably expect participating restaurants to observe the current COVID protocols and guidelines…and anticipate some limitations as far as the number of diners allowed due to restrictions. A number of eateries offer outdoor dining, curbside pick-up/take-out, and even deliveries - check first to be sure depending on your preferences, pricing, and availability.

You are likely to find plenty of dining options near where you live, or travel a bit further to explore new places. It’s an invitation to be adventurous in your dining!

Taking part in Restaurant Week in San Diego is easy. No tickets, coupons, or special passes are needed - just visit the restaurants that intrigue you and take advantage of great dining and terrific prices. Reservations are not necessary but it always makes sense to have them, especially for dinner and on the weekend, given this is a popular event. Better to be safe than having to wait in line or find out there is no room. Contact the restaurants directly or go through their website.

So plan lunch or dinner out at least one time during San Diego Restaurant Week, or perhaps more than once…all you need are your wallet and appetite!

Bon Appetit/Buon Appetito!!

I love Restaurant Weeks, Jeff. Charlotte's took place in late July with the next one coming in January. San Diego has a wide array of options. Our Restaurant Week this summer did not have quite as many restaurants participating as in the past... we usually have well over 100. Maybe in January... Meantime, hope you get to enjoy a good meal or two, or even three during your Restaurant Week.

Good morning Jeff. Must say a great week to be in San Diego. Unfortunately, like Endre Barath, Jr. the wife and I are not dining out very often and usually find an excuse to stay home. Enjoy the event!

That sounds like a great way for people to try some offerings from restaurants that they wouldn't normally visit.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. - I understand. I expect there are plenty of people who feel the same way, while others are OK with dining out.

Hi Wayne Martin  - we have dined out very little in the last 18 months. We may do a take-out.

Brian England - it's good for diners and good for the restaurants!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel  - I suspect some communities that have offered these in the past have decided not to right now because of the pandemic.

Jeff,

We think they stopped here, because when we analyzed the cost vs what we were getting with the "set" menu, it was not worth it at all to us.  It is not like it used to be.  A
