"Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."
~ Laozi (author of the Tao)
This past week has been focused on understanding the path of least resistance, or in other terms going with the flow. Another way of putting this idea into words is to find the path of most allowing.
Our Yin Yoga teacher encourages not to push beyond our threshold by quoting Carl Jung:
"What you resist persists, what you embrace dissolves with grace."
We both have found this to be true. By staying still and focused on a tight spot without pushing, we find ourselves moving beyond our perceived limits.
"I equate ego with trying to figure everything out instead of going with the flow. That closes your heart and your mind to the person or situation that's right in front of you, and you miss so much."
~ Pema Chodron
We have applied this concept to our lives. If we encounter resistance, we keep moving and adapt. We don't rue about it, we adjust and we make the best of it. It is how we would define enlightenment. We just go with the flow!
Wishing Everyone a Great Week
