Special offer

June 30th No More Windows XP

By
Real Estate Agent with Keffer Realty

I just read that Microsoft will no longer offer Windows XP as of June 30, 2008.  The rumors that Microsoft was going to extend the date, can be put to rest.  Microsoft has stated that they will keep supporting XP.  There will be loop holes for some pc makers who are building ultra low cost computers that are not powerful enough for the Vista software.

Since my laptop is new and came with Vista, I will be safe, but what about my old reliable desk top computer, I guess it is time for a new one anyway.

Did you make the leap to Vista?

My understanding was that XP would be availabe from MS in the form of a download.

I too have a new laptop but Dell gave me the option of having XP or Vista, so I went with XP because our MLS System is not working correctly with Vista yet. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE XP! I REALLY don't like Vista, AT ALL!!!! Microsoft, don't do this!!!!

It's kind of Ironic that the "graphic" word I'm suppose to use below to verify I'm not SPAM is APPLE!! Maybe that's a sign that I should go BUY ONE....doesn't seem like THEY have these kind of propblems!

Lorinda, yes I took the leap and everything has Vista but I also have my old desk top had XP and is the only computer that will talk to one of the printers so I have to keep it around since I'm not willing to throw away a printer.

It will never stop...there will be something else that will come out and make everything we have obsolete again. I liken it to dirty laundry...never ends.
