Thank you kindlly for visiting!A good Home Inspection will give you knowledge!

Knowledge is the Power for Your Freedom to a Worry Free Home!

You just maybe wondering, how much time it takes for the basement inspection, by your Home Inspector.

Will it really depends on a lot of things. Like the extent of the basement area (the overall size of it), how much difficulty there is to moving about in the basement, the amount of and the type of equipment there is, if there are any crawlspaces that also have to be checked, there is always the thing with how accessible the home owner has made everything, for the inspection day of the home.

In all reality it could very well take your Home Inspector anywhere from an hour or more to complete the basement part of the inspection.

I would also like you to know if it only takes your Home Inspector 15 to 20 minutes for the basement inspection. I am sorry to tell you, that your inspector did not fully inspect the basement of the home, and all you got was a hasty and very superficial walk-thru of the basement.

I have been asked by folk's. Have I ever done a Home Inspection, that I did not have to inspect the basemen. The only way this could happen is if the home was constructed on a slab.

Hey Dale - It took about 45 seconds once I clicked to leave you a comment before your page came up. Seems every page is moving slowly this evening. Now back to basements. We don't have many homes with basements in our area; most are slap (the newer homes) and older homes are pier and beam. I think everyone should have some kinds of space in case a tornado should come but that is just my opinion. I keep telling my son he could get rich if he could dig and area about 10x10 for people to go in case of bad weather. With this crazy weather we have been having we could have a tornado and no where to go for protection.

I'll check back later. Carl

Dale--I cannot imagine that a home inspection would not include the basement. That is often where many of the questions are as our mechanicals and water intrusion are often huge issues with underground foundations in MN. Important to inspect the entire house...top to bottom!

Howdy Carl and Ceil

My friends, I am always glad to have ya visit.

Back in the 20's to about the 50's homes in the country, did not have basements back in Mo. They had storm cellars. There are still some now a day's that have and use a storm cellar to be safe from tornado.

It would be a very good thing for your son to look in to doing.

Country folk's would dig a storm cellar, off to one side or outback of their home. The cellar could be be 20 yards or sometimes even more from the home. If tornado came a visiten, they would go down into their storm cellar to be safe. When I was growing up we lived in tornado alley. They sure liked to come a visiten.

I know Texas don't have a lot of basments as part of the homes. I posted about this info in Texas Real Estate group mainlly in case any of the good folk's there ever thought about or would end up moving to another area because of their job.

Carl, have ya checked out your AR outside blog yet ?

God Bless The U.S.A.

Dale - I did click on it but really didn't quite know what to do. I'll have to go look at it again. I'll go do that right now.

Dale - Just went to look. Yes there is something that says Outside Blog and when I click it looks like a blog or partial blog I may have on Google Blogspot or whatever they call their blog; but don't know what to do with it.

I went to your main page and you don't have an Outside Blog. Maybe I need to see how and what others are doing with their outside blog. I read something on AR front page about it but didn't understand. You know me, this seems confusing. I'll go check out some others and see what they have done.

My friend, the outside blog spot on your home page, can only be seen by you. You can setup the AR blog's you want or don't want to show up on it.

It's there so we can go and edit our outside blog pages. Sometimes I think they like to do that to us.

Howdy Gary

Glad to have ya visit my friend.

I'm glad you found it to be a interesting read.

Basement's have a lot goen on in them, so it can take a bit of time to check every thing out.

The foundation, flooring, wood - support, water seepage, walls, furnace room, exterior and interior stair wells, window wells. There are 3 main defend types of basement's that can be part of a home, the unfinished, finished, and partly finished. Some even have half basement's and half crawl space area.

Howdy Frank

Glad to have ya visit my friend.

There are also some high water table areas around here. Builder have to take more care when puting a basment in these areas.

God Bless The U.S.A.
