On October 21, 2021, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported on median home value price was $352,800 in September of 2021 jumped 13.3% from the price of $311,500 in September of 2020.
Single family home sales were at annual rate of 5.59 million units in September of 2021 rose 7.7% from the annual rate of 5.19 million home sales in August of 2021, but declined 3.1% from home sales rate in September of 2020. The median single family home price was $359,700 in September of 2021, gained 13.8% from September of 2020.
Condominium and co-op sales grew 1.4% to an annual rate of 700,000 units in September of 2021 from 690,000 in August of 2021, and higher 4.5% from September of 2020. Median existing condo price was $297,900 in September of 2021, increased 9.3% from September of 2020.
Distressed homes sales were 1.0% in September of 2021 unchanged from 1.0% in August of 2021, and same as from 1.0% in September of 2020.
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, stated "First-time buyers are hit particularly hard by the historically high home prices as they largely do not have the savings required to buy a home or equity to offset such a purchase,"
