I have always considered myself a collector of sorts. With that said, I do not collect just one style or for that matter not even in one area. My collections have many different faces but all of them represent a part of me. I collect sports memorabilia, the Tasmanian Devil items, colored crystal from the far reaches of the world, hand blown glass, printed artwork, Disney Artwork, Superhero Artwork, and it goes on and on. I have to say that probably my most prized collection comes from my hand blown glass.

Today, I had the pleasure of discovering a new website that sales hand blown glass. I would probably say that their most prized would be from their signature series. The one pictured to the right is a piece out of my personal collection and it is from a signature series that I bought out of Fort Myers Florida several years ago. Being the owner of over 30 signature series has its advantages as the blower that I bought from calls me regularly when he blows new pieces.

The thing that I love about this new site is the vastness in variety and the fact that they do not skimp on the quality. Hand Blown Glass is a prize and is meant to be enjoyed by not only the owner but all that look upon it. On this website you will find glass vase, glass wall art, glass bowls, fluted bowls, and glass sculptures in addition to the signature series that I mention above.

I can truly say that Darren Goodman, the artist, is very talented as a blower. He has been an independent studio glass artist since 2004 and has won several awards, including First Prize in Glass from the 2006 Loveland Art Show. You have to see his work to appreciate it.

When I go through the gallery I have to picture how the piece would look amongst my other pieces. I have to decide if it would be for my office or for my house. I have to think about the other things that are around where I think of it going. Once I decide all this, then I can determine which piece that I want to buy.

All in all, if it is for you or if it is for a gift, you can not go wrong in buying some Hand Blown Glass. It will be the enjoyment of everyone around you.

Danny - that's all I need! More art to pine for.  I love that piece.  At least until my home construction is finished, nothing like this would be safe.  I'm okay for about a month before I go nuts on this site!  : )

Hi Danny..I was so excited to see your Post. I am into glass...big time!  I collect artist paperweights especially(would love to branch out into perfume bottles...but have to show some restraint!)

harrie This piece by Paul Harrie reminds me a bit of your sculpture. Here is a website for a gallery I have ordered from ...beautiful glass and some of the best artists!

Danny - we have a wonderful little glassblowing studio located at the Toledo Botanical Garden.  I love to go and watch the folks craft some of the most beautiful pieces you can imagine.  I have a small bud vase that is done all in blues that I watched being born.  It's not big, it wasn't expensive, but it certainly brings me pleasure.  We also have the Glass Museum where they offer classes in glassblowing and do some incredible demonstrations throughout the day.  I'll try to find more info on it if you'd like it.  Just let me know.

Danny - that piece is awesome - I'll have to check out the site and see if they have anything cool to compliment the Southwerstern style of homes here in Mesquite.  Thanks!

It is indeed a beautiful piece. I love the movement it expresses as it flow around the center piece.

Danny, what a beautiful piece of art! I love Joan's paperweight too. (I collect depression glass, but I've had to taper back, running out of cabinet space!)

I was told in Florida that I had to quit buying as we were running out of room. So I took a transfer to Atlanta.
