When you think of Fall Festivities, visions of pumpkin patches, hay bales, and children frolicking through fields come to mind. But why limit the activities to children? Adults want to have fun, too.
Last week, Castlewoods Place, a senior assisted-living facility in Brandon, hosted their Fall Festival. Several vendors participated in the event. I attended as a neighborhood volunteer and Realtor. Pre-pandemic, I visited regularly to call Bingo, play games, etc., but visiting was forbidden during the height of the pandemic. I missed my senior friends and they missed us. Fortunately, we slowly have been invited to select events over the last few weeks.
The Activities Director planned a wonderful event for the active Seniors; corn hole games, bobbing for apples, guessing games, music by the fabulous DJ, (seen in the photo as The Scream), and smoky witches brew punch. They even made indoor smore's! They had giveaways and prizes provided by the Sponsors. The entire building was festive and the decorations were exceptional.
The seniors truly warm my heart and they love the attention showered upon them. In the photo below of the three witches, the Activities Director, Mrs. Tiffany, is on the left, I'm on the right, and in the middle is the precious and lovely Miss Dee, one of the newest residents. Dee is one of my favorite people, as we knew each other prior to her selling her home and moving into Castlewoods Place. She is a talented artist in several mediums and if hugging were allowed, she would get a big one from me.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about the Fall Festival at Castlewoods Place. It is a fun community for active Seniors, and Mrs. Tiffany does a terrific job planning these events. The facility is located on Castlewoods Blvd. in Brandon, MS, in the Castlewoods neighborhood near the Ross Barnett Reservoir.
