October my favorite month is coming to an end it is not your usual Halloween... we are about an hour and a half away from closing out October. This post is bitter sweet. I went around to our regular Halloween customers this afternoon with candy in a bucket. Pre packed in plastic bags: The customers are the kids in our neighborhood... it was early afternoon with a bucket of Candy and the parents all said : Does that mean you will not be open tonight?:)
I sadly said indeed there is no decorations but our regular customers the eight children should not miss out. As I handed out the bags of candy they all approved of the quality of the candy.
I told Diane it was reassuring that it does not matter if it is seven, or ten or twenty of forty years later kids still know what good candy is.
It is my fault after being scarred to death for the past 19 months, I sure did not want Halloween to be the reason for us to get Covid-19 or any of it's variants.
So with that said this is a sad contribution to Kathy Streib October Challenge. Diane drove around the three or four blocks and saw very few activities from kids walking around and few homes being decorated. Hence my take is I am glad I am not the only one who is a Party Pooper on Halloween 2021 in the Westchester, CA 90045 neighborhood.
The pictures you see here were taken on our walks with Holly, it is good to know there are a few brave souls out there.
Now with that said wishing you a Happy Halloween. Hopefully next year we will not be so scarred and will participate actively in decorating and handing out candy to our loyal fans.
