Arrivals And Departures. . .
It is that time of year where we may think of the 'comings' and 'goings' at the airport. But let’s leave that place as well as any road leading "to/fro" all sorts of places and go forth in another direction.
Recently while out and about, I saw indications of businesses “coming soon” as well as some others leaving. Sometimes it seems they left without a trace.
Some of those spaces return quite quickly. Maybe they have transformed with a new name, under new management or some change in ownership. Any such occurrence may even be transparent to a casual passerby. Possibly an entirely new business venture may enter the streetscape in its place.
These sorts of things may happen often depending on the neighborhood. Size as well as the vibrancy(or the lack of it)of an area can have an influence.
A combination of feelings is likely evident as these changes occur. Excitement along with some(perhaps much) sadness can make their presence known. It’s a part of life that needs to be acknowledged in my opinion. All of it. Just like feelings of thankfulness.
Life is about this and that. And then there are those things that make us step back - just a little - and wonder about a bigger picture.
Inspiration for gratitude can come from all sorts of places. It can be found deep inside us or possibly from that window seat so high in the sky. Even from the driver's seat as we speed over the river and through the woods on the way to a special destination.
And then there are times we ponder as we wander(and wonder) in daily life. Personally, I remain grateful(and thankful too plus all sorts of other expressions that might not be so clearly defined) for those moments.
Maybe it's clarity of thought that is revealed during such moments. It could be quiet reflection or joyous celebrating. What matters most, in my opinion, is that such moments exist.
Although I am not participating each day of this ten day event with a post, this is a submission for the ActiveRain November 2021 Challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS and it seems to be the right fit for me at this time.
