Be on the ball and get ready for the new .com explosion. You snooze, you loose. It has been announced that the powers to be will soon let YOU decide what YOUR extension will be. Start thinking because some people will make a ton of money on registering new names. Remember the extension can be what ever you want. Try these out:

NewYork.RealEstate

Bobby.Remax

Ali.Realtor

ISell.Atlanta

Got the picture? I recommend you keep tabs on this because there are people who most likely already have lists they hope to make millions on. I'd bet on Drink.Coke .

On another note I've been updating my post DO IT YOURSELF SEO (Search Engine Optimazation) so please check it out. Thanks,

Bob

The .com, .net, .biz, .us all make it easy...if you start adding a zillion extensions some will work nicely but like the box of 128 crayons...all the options can end up being confusing...thanks for the post and information!

Sounds good to me.  One can only imagine how this will change the way we "internet".

Bob, if that's really true, there's going to be a lot of spelling going on when you give out your domain name. Instead of "nike.com" is it going to be "just.doit"?

I thought about this too.  It is going to be so confusing that I think we all get "wrong numbers" often.  Have they run out of the traditional extensions already?  Doesn't seem to be so, because there are still so many monikers for sale with com, net, org, etc.

Interesting but if you start using brand names instead of .com's then would they need to buy permission from the owner of that name? I don't see the right to use a .remax or a .realtor without an objection from the brand owners.

The big gold rush was coming when they introduced .info, .biz, .tv....   and that fizzled.  I wouldn't get NEAR one of those domain names....  they're nearly worthless.  Nobody knows them, nobody remembers them.

Thanks for sharing, but I will stick withe the primary .com  A lot of search engines do not include non primary domains.

Could be fun...  If you can own your own top level domain, marketed right (partnership with Godaddy perhaps) you could make a mint.  I remember .web which didn't make it off the ground however I had reserved a domain with the .web extension around 1997.  What are some other TLD's.  .money, .invest, .dot

HHHmmm, That is interesting. I prefer the way it currently is set up by country. This way I can tell where they are located pretty quickly.

I agree it would get confusing.  I don't even like the .org's.

I heard .love was going to be one of them.

My name in French means "beloved" so I have a thing for all things heart and love related. Even my wedding ring has a heart cut diamond.

Im not sure how I could use .love in my business yet though.

Susan, did you know that the world's largest softball tournament is the McQuaide tournament in Bismarck ND?

Cheri', how about RealEstate.Love or ImIn.Love ?
