Debe Maxwell, CRS asked what are we thankful for this holiday season? Well I am thankful to wake up every day that is for sure . When I was a child I woke up in a house full of song . My mother would be singing and some days I sing the songs she would sing to wake me .It goes like this "The Red Red Robin is Bob Bob Bob along and there will be no more sobbing while he is singing his song sweet song wake up, wake up you sleepy head get up get up get out of bed cheer up cheer up The sun is red live life long laugh and be happy .I am just a kid again doing what I did again singing that song . When the red red robin is Bob, Bobbing along " Then I laugh and bow or curtsey . Cleo is right behind me playing along
Now I do not know If I have all the words right. Regardless, it is a happy song and always brings back fond memories . My voice I can promise you is nothing like my Mother's who had a beautiful voice but it will make you laugh. I am thankful for my ability to dance, sing and joke around. Most important to see the bright side of life
My parents always had music on in the house . Be it Jazz, Contemperary, Benny Goodman or an Orchestra playing the 1812 Oveverture by Tchaikovsky. I played in the school Orchestra first Violin . So I too learned to love music and still do
My love for music continued with Rock and Roll . I was fortunate enough to see Jimmy Hendrix and Jim Morrison of the Doors jump right off the stage in front of me and sing . I am grateful to have seen Janis Joplin singing her heart out two feet away from me. The Chambers Brothers clang a bell and sing The time has come today . Last but not least Crospy ,Stills and Nash singing My House.
I have seen many more bands and musicians. I also love Classical music and ballet in fact, I love all music . Today and everyday I am thankful for my appreciation and love of Music
My parents would not believe they could just speak and say play Putting on the Ritz by Irving Berlin
