Thanksgiving Challenge - Post 4- by Debe Maxwell, CRS -
Grateful and Thankful For Every Month of the Year...
Most of us have some sort of electronic albums that we can look back and smile at our lives throughout the year. Whether it is on your phone or in the cloud, it is fun to see the year in review. I thought I would take this time to grab a pic or two and reflect and celebrate every month of the year.
I enjoy fall most of all but as I thought about each month, I could find that there are celebrations, good times, beauty, and weather, all year long. I thought I would start in December of 2020 to cover the entire year.
December 25, 2020
This is my Sedona family. We get to see each other at least 2 days a week. Rick and I realize how blessed we are to be within a half-hour of our only grandchild.
January 2021
It wouldn't be winter without a little snow. I was in awe of how the branches captured the snow during this storm. Our snow is not a big deal. 8.25 inches of snow fell in January but it wasn't all at once and it melts fast! Every day is above freezing so snow rarely turns to ice. It does not stick.
February 2021
Tristan was born on Superbowl Sunday five years ago. This was the first time his birthday fell on Superbowl Sunday once again.
Of course, we won't soon forget our chance to get vaccinated. In Northern AZ, it was not offered as widespread as it was in the Phoenix area. So one of the only places we could go was at our county seat in Prescott.
Valentine's Day and my birthday are around the same time and this was an image Rick had made from one of my luxury listings.
March 2021
Happy St. Patrick's Day! But watch out for the snow! We got another 7.5 inches in March!
April 2021
With all the snow we had, there were an additional 5 inches of rain to include through March. So the trees and bushes were in full bloom by April.
May 2021
Mother's Day
Ricky, Tristan, Rick, and I enjoyed a wonderful hike on the trail right behind our home under Coffeepot Rock. It was a Mother's Day to remember.
June 2021
June is always the warmest month of the year especially when the monsoon is in full swing. We averaged 79.5º this year. Fortunately, we do not get any humidity.
July 2021
The red agave is in full bloom. That must mean July is here! Yes, we do have some grass in Arizona. HaHa!
August 2021
Hard to believe that next year in August will be our 50th wedding anniversary. These are all my favorite flowers.
September 2021
Ever since Tristan was a little baby, my husband has put him through this ritual of wearing the AZ Cardinals hat and holding the TV remote. When he was a baby, he would chew on it. I don't follow football but my husband is a diehard Cardinal fan, and cannot believe how well they are doing. The top team in the NFL right now.
October 2021
It seems like just yesterday, we were celebrating Halloween.
I guess it kinda was... Tristan was a bat; complete with ears on his hoodie and webbed gloves!
November 2021
This was just 2 days ago. The Thanksgiving traffic was backed up for well over a mile coming into town. Tourism is probably the big drawback for locals but we learn to work around it. A mile back up means an extra 10 minutes. So, as they say, "suck it up buttercup! Haha!
The holiday season is in full swing in Sedona and it is time to enjoy all that it has to offer.
Enjoy a special look from under my Japanese Maple tree and have a
Happy Thanksgiving.
