On November 24, 2021, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sales gained .40% to an annual rate of 745,000 homes in October of 2021 from 742,000 homes in September of 2021, but fell 23.1% from in October of 2020 an annual rate of 969,000 homes.
The median new home sold value was $407,700, while the average sales price was $477,800 in October of 2021. There were estimated 389,000 new houses for sale, and 6.3 months supplies of available inventory at the end of October of 2021.
