Ending the Thanksgiving Weekend: My tradition has been Leftover ...

Ending the Thanksgiving Weekend: My tradition has  always been that I would  bake the small pumpkins. They  were part of the indoor  decorations. Now they would become the vessel for the left over Turkey Soup.

From one perspective it is very unusual but at the same time very delicious.

Easy to do, you cut the pumpkin, clean out the insides, wipe with a little Olive Oil the insides and bake them for 15-20 minutes depending on the size at 400 degrees.

In the mean time warm the left over Turkey Soup on the stove top. Then simply fill the pumpkin with the soup and bake at 350 degrees for another ten minutes.

Hello Endre - even in the coldest weather, I have never been much of a soup eater.  The presentation is certainly creative.

Good morning Endre - that is a nice idea.  Will these be used for something else later like pumpkin pie?

Hmm, that is an interesting idea and I am sure baking it for another 10 minutes inside of the pumpkin gives it a little more flavor.

Always been a soup eater.  Not sure I would trust the pumpkin, for fear it would start leaking. haha

How interesting! I wouldn't have thought of doing that. Of course, I'm not a big pumpkin or turkey soup fan but I bet my family might like this....

What do I think, Endre? I think it sounds wonderful... both as a tasty treat and as a lovely tradition. Both are worth looking forward to.

Good morning Endre,

I am not a big soup fan, nor a pumpkin fan.  I like your idea and tradition.  We skipped the turkey this year, as we often have it through out the year.  And your presentation is lovely.  A

HI Endre Barath, Jr. - I love the presentation.  I don't normally make soup from scratch. But this is certainly an idea to try.

Endre it looks delicious.  We enjoyed our leftovers as well, but after 3 meals of turkey I am ready to move on to Thanksgiving 2022.

Endre Barath, Jr. - what a clever idea to keep the spirit of the season alive and sizzling with something new, something different. I'm sure the pioneers had no problem finding ways to improvise left-overs into tasty, healthy meals. As our country continues to be challenged and threatened by empty store shelves and supply chain messes out at sea, we all need to think creatively. Bravo to you for thinking outside the box!!!

I recognize the difference in our local real estate markets and what works in my market in Boise, Idaho may not work for you in Beverly Hills.  However, it is somewhat gratifying to take that pumpkin out for target practice.  That way, I will have more luck adding to my turkey soup. . .

This one was just far enough out city limits to have been legal.
