The sale of fireworks is legal in the State of Missouri. Fireworks stores and tents started popping up around the area in mid-June, as fireworks can be sold from June 20th until July 10th. Then again December 20th until January 2nd.

The Division of Fire Safety enforces the rules and regulations of fireworks here in Missouri. Approximately 1,350 permits are issued yearly to manufacturers, wholesalers, jobbers, distributors, and retailers of fireworks. In our area, fireworks can be sold in Laclede County but cannot be sold within the city limits of Lebanon.

Whether you prefer to shop indoors or out, there's something here for everyone!

Debbie, That's amazing...they are very illegal here yet people get caught nearly every year driving tractor trailer loads of fireworks here....and the ones that get through make a fortune!  I love fireworks, I think we should be able to buy at least some....have a blast :)

I'll enjoy a few for you Carole! I love fireworks too - and it is rather fun to have them all year round here. Even though they are only sold twice a year, people "stock up"

Good morning Debbie... Whereas some areas of the country are banning fireworks and sales due to the drought, with all the rain that y'all have been experiencing, I guess that y'all don't have to worry about that... We seem to have a fireworks stand on almost every corner here too...

You're right Michael - with all the rain this year, no worries about setting something on fire. But it does make me wonder how well those items being sold in a tent will work.

When I was a kid we used to go to Arkansas (where my folks were raised) around the 4th of July. we lived in Arizona, where fireworks were illegal for private sale. Part of the Summer fun was stopping at fireworks stands in AR and getting some to use for the 4th. I really miss sparklers! What fun.

I love fireworks.  But here in California, we are heavily under seize with wild fires currently.  It's put a damper on firework celebrations for this July 4th.  I suspect there will still be some of the larger displays by some of the cities.  But our sales are down a bit.

Oh yes Mryl, I'd say fireworks would be on the outs in CA. Here in MO we've had record rains. Nice and green, wherever you look. Not much danger of fire here.

Jeremy - Myrtle Beach is a family favorite! Are they allowed to sell fireworks all year where you are or just during certain times?
