Wordless Wednesday…Christmas Trees

If I could, I’d keep the holiday lights up all year!!  When we lived in Delray Beach, I can remember all of the palm trees with lights running up their trunks.

Christmas trees would come in a close second to the lights. We haven’t had a tall tree for many years. In fact, the last time was when our last Brittany went blind.

Having a traditional Christmas tree was no longer an option, so we opted for a 4-foot tabletop tree and have had one ever since.

Large or small, real or faux…I love all Christmas trees…

This is a miniature tree set up in a large birdcage I have.

Christmas trees under glass!

My tabletop tree

And finally, my favorite tree, the 100 ft Delray Beach Christmas Tree!  I really miss that.

Kathy, are two boys are all grown up and married, and my only grandchild is out in Seattle, so for the last couple of years my wife and I have also just put up a small table top tree.  It is not as festive as the larger ones we use to decorate, but it still puts us in the Christmas mood.

Hi Kathy Streib - Your table-top tree is beautiful. My husband has little lights up the trunk of our Japanese Maple.  They are on it and lit up all year long from dusk to 10 pm.

Ever since we moved to Sedona we have done a table-top tree.  This way, we don't have to move any furniture.  We only move a lamp!  But this year we got a 6-foot tree for that tabletop.  It is so full.  It took us two minutes to pick it out.  The round trip from the lot back to our house was about 10 minutes!  I am decorating it now.

It is easy to see why you miss the 100 foot tree.  Very impressive, even in a pic.  M

HI Bill Salvatore - YVP Blog many families now let their children have their own small tree to decorate. That's fun!

Brian England Over the years and many moves, I think our nativity scene may buried in the bottom of a box. I haven't seen it in a few years.

faye schubert that sounds like the good old-fashioned Christmas I remember...hanging treasured ornaments one at a time.

Beth Atalay I love that idea!!!  Somehow, it seems I lose some of my decorations with each move.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I can remember trying to put lights on the palm trees at our first house in FL.  My favorite decorations are Nutcrackers and Santa's.

Hi Jill Watts  A Brittany used to be called a Brittany spaniel.  We had two at different times and they both went blind.  We believe it to be an autoimmune disease.

George Souto when we moved to FL so many years ago, I didn't know how I was going to make it through Christmas without the traditional trees and colder weather. I was wrong. All it took was one boat parade!!

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I'm all about keeping it simple!!! Ours is in front of our window looking out back and you can see it from the front door as well. Last year, I carefully carried it upstairs and put it fully decorated in a guest bedroom closet.

Last year I bought a potted Alberta Spruce to use as a tabletop Christmas tree.  It has thrived these past months, so I brought it back inside to serve as a Christmas tree this year as well.  Your trees give great ideas.

The day has FINALLY come. Our first year EVER without a live tree.

We have always had a live tree, and the past 25 or so years we have cut it down.

Last year there was water damage to the floor and that was it. We have a brand new fake tree this year.

I have to admit, other than not having that wonderful fresh tree smell, I am quite happy!

I certainly won't miss the mess that removing a dead dry tree creates in January!
