I like the word appreciation instead of gratitude .  It is a personal preference, because it means that the things one appreciate are even more valuable every day!  I appreciate the quote each time I have read it...A

Hi Paul - people who are grateful always seem to be happier.  I will choose gratitude or appreciation.

Helo Paul - of course, I have previously seen this quote.  And now reading Alexandra's Ron and Alexandra Seigel comment, I can certainly understand and appreciate those words a bit more.  

HI Paul- so often we take things for granted and fail to appreciate how fortunate we are. Be grateful and learn to find something to be grateful for even when it doesn't seem possible. 

Living with an attitude of gratitude was appropriate in Ralph Waldo Emerson's time... and it continues to be in our time, as well, Paul. Some concepts never go out of style.

Sometimes even the bad or unwanted episodes that we experience are learning experiences and we should appreciate the manner in which we overcame them
