Denton County Education, Creation & Housing

Flower Mound is one of several cities in Denton County. Cultural diversity and landscaping are unique to each city but the education from the District is the same for all. Many people choose Denton County because of the school district, Lewisville, ISD. Many parents with special needs children, such as autism find that the educational curriculums are the best compared to other counties. Another place to get therapy in Denton, Tarrant, and Wise County is the Victory Therapy Center where horses step in to help children, adults, and Veterans in need of coping with anxiety and PTSD. It cost the Center over $750,000 annually to provide services for 95 riders and their equine partners. They also provide over $32,000 in scholarships to riders and their families in need each year. For the love of children, adults, and veterans, donations are always welcome. For more information about receiving therapy go to victorytherapy.org.

In Denton County, people can sell their homes and buy year-round without having to wait for spring or summer. November, December, January, and February are very popular months for buying and selling. Today is December 17, 2021; the temperature is 76 degrees. On average, gas prices in Denton County at the pump are $2.88 per gallon. Below is a snapshot of the Housing Report for November 2021 and how it compares to 2020.

The Flower Mound Public Library is an excellent source of information. New at the library is the Creation Lab! Patrons under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone looking to explore their creativity are welcome. Library membership cards are required.

Patricia, 76 degrees in December would be unheard of around here, and $2.88 per gallon is way below the $3.50 per gallon we pay here.

George Souto - having been born in Chicago; then living in Northern, IL, just south of the Wisconsin border until March 1997, I know what cold means with added expenses for heat, electricity, winter clothing, snow shovels, rusted cars, seasonal tires, winter boots, winter attire, skin products, broken eye glasses from the weather, higher gas prices and property taxes. Plus, paying both State and Federal Income Taxes was an added burden on me and my family. Living in the southeast has extra bonus' that I never had in the Midwest. Perhaps you should consider moving further south?

Patricia in the old days I would have said this sounds like Los Angeles.... well not any more... two days ago it was raining and 39 degrees, yesterday it was raining and 42 degrees.... just to be clear I hear it was the same temperature in New York:))Endre

Endre Barath, Jr. - in the old days, long before you and I were born it has been written that people looked up to the heavens and said, please make it rain, and the rain came! It rained and it rained and it rained and it has been written that it rained for 40 days and the only ones saved was Noah and the arc with two of every kind of animals. And then the people looked up to the heavens and said, please, let the rain stop!. The rain stopped and rumor has it that the drought fell upon the earth and once again the people looked up once more and said, please make it rain... As they say, history repeats itself.

Hello Patricia - an interesting look at life in Denton County Texas showcasing real estate as well as the educational opportunities, people and the seriousness of "horsing around" too.

Michael Jacobs - When it comes to helping people who need therapy, horsing around is the best type of relaxation and medicine! It does the whole body good. Well-rounded education does too!

Denton's winter weather and gas prices make it a great place to live. Buyers and sellers moving into or out of your area should call you for help!

And by the way I looked at your creation at the top for quite a while. How interesting - at first glance, it looks reflective, but then I noticed the differences. Love it!

Kat Palmiotti - Thanks! I enjoyed reading your comments. I'm glad to know you took your time looking at my photograph. It was fun to make!

I was just in California and gas is definitely cheaper where you live than what I was seeing there, haha.

Brian England - I'm not surprised. Even in the housing market and taxes, CA is so much higher. That's one of many reasons why so many people are leaving the state of CA.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - what a lovely comment! I like how you see things through your eyes. In choosing my home for my children long ago, education and the schools were high priority along with the environment. What impressed me the most, is that when I talked to the school before deciding to buy, I was concerned about overcrowding (because the schools where I went as a child were very, very overcrowded). I was impressed that the school told me they projected how many children were expected to attend for the next five and ten years. Therefore, they owned land to build whenever the need was near and had enough money to provide books, teachers and added curriculums for the future generations. Plus, it was part of their annual Strategic Management Plan to review every year. I can't tell you how impressed I was to learn there was a plan!

I am really impressed by the photo art you have posted here, Patricia.  I'm equally impressed by your $2.88 gas price in Denton.  I filled up yesterday.  The best I could do was $4.39.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

Myrl Jeffcoat - You'll never know how thankful I am that gas prices are consistently lower than other states. I don't have public transportation and my only means is my car. $4.39 is insane. Where my daughter lives, it's more than double what you're paying. This inflation is hurting a lot of people.
