Here is a list of the best lakes in West Bloomfield Township. Many lake home buyers consider big lakes to be the best. I will not get into the argument whether a bigger lake is better. I am going to list the 6 biggest lakes in the township.
Cass Lake is one of the largest lakes in South east Michigan. It is Oakland County's largest lake at 1280 acres and with an average depth 26 feet. Its deepest point reaching 123 feet. Cass Lake is a great choice for those seeking a waterfront property in Michigan because it is surrounded by so many cities in Oakland County. These Michigan cities include Waterford Township, West Bloomfield Orchard Lake Village, and Keego Harbour. These waterfront properties sit on a public access lake that allows all sports vehicles. Cass Lake is a fun place for waterfront living in Michigan because it does have sherriff patrols.
Cass Lake is what I would call a high end lake. It has many luxury waterfront estates on the lake that range over 6 million dollars and some of these waterfront estates have over 10,000 square feet of living space. Of course you will find many smaller homes on the lake too. If these smaller homes have large lots many times they will be torn down to have bigger homes with the latest amenities built on them. There are still some 1000 square foot homes on the lake. Cass Lake does have a few canals too so you may be able to find a Cass Lake canal front home that is lower in price and lower in taxes but still gives you the full access of the lake.
What is rare about Green Lake is that it is the only larger lake in Oakland County, Michigan that is electric motors only. Anyone who is seeking nice waterfront homes on a large lake, but still wants the peace and quiet should definitely look at Green Lake. This lake is also a private lake with modern, well-kept waterfront homes, located more specifically in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Green Lake is an impressive 100 acres with a maximum depth of 72 feet. Note: there is one section of the lake which is Pontiac schools and homes on that side go for a little less.

There is no public access to Walnut Lake, but there are several association beaches. Walnut Lake is the perfect place for high-end waterfront living, in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Depending on where you live on the lake the school district is either going to be Birmingham school district or Bloomfield Hills school district. You are not going to find homes in the under $200,000 range on Walnut Lake in West Bloomfield. You will find even the small homes are going to be sold for 300 - $600,000 just for the lot on the lake. There are lake laws on when you can operate a boat at high speed. The lake hours are 10 to 6:30 at night. After those hors it is a no wake period.
