Once upon a time if you had a question in the Rain you'd just find Brad, Bob or Kerrie and ask. The community was still fairly small and those people were very visible on a daily basis.
Obviously those days are long past so if you've got a question, so you're going to have to seek answers from a different source.
The good news? There's a wealth of information in this community and the culture promotes sharing.
Depending on your time here the answers to your question might be easy.
You know who works with probate.
You know who knows GREEN homes.
You know who specializes in various locations, types of homes, types of sales, etc.
You call one of your ActiveRain friends, ask you question and get the answer you need. Been there, done that, got a few t-shirts! :)
But say you're newer to the community and don't have that network established yet, what do you do?
Well, there's the Q&A section (click the link or look at the top Menu bar for Q&A).
You can post a real estate related question and chances are good that you'll get a legit answer to your question, along with a few AYB (ask your broker), I don't know and looks like XXXX provided you a good answer!
You can ask as yourself or Anonymously if you choose (but know that if you respond to a question asked Anonymously you'll out yourself, and also know some people have issues with Anonymous questions).
Now if you venture outside of ActiveRain or real estate related questions, you might find yourself in the "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" category. Spam questions get axed. Historically, questions that provoke political brawls are also likely to get whacked.
If you've got a tech/how to question about ActiveRain, posting in Q&A is first line triage by ActiveRain Member Support. ActiveRain Member Support has direct access to the development team to notify them of issues.
Rumor has it that Support has been restaffed and are actively addressing messages to support@activerain.com. Hopefully we've seen the last of the "black hole" days of sending emails to Support.
Bottom line, you can ask any active member (Ambassador or not) and they'll do their best to help you, or point you to someone more likely to have the answer you need.
Until next Tuesday, just Ask An Ambassador (or Q&A) if you need help!
