Morristown TN Real Estate For Sale - Gas or Electric Fireplace?

By
Real Estate Agent with Elite Realty Group

We actually have a gas fireplace right now in our current home and love it.  Our new home we are building however is going to have electric because they are a lot less expensive and we plan on putting them in 3 or more rooms of the house.

Morning Norma, I have a gas fireplace too, and do love it.  Had a call yesterday from a potential buyer that said they HAVE to have a wood-burning fireplace.

Joan Cox hi Joan... good luck finding one of those in Charlotte these days... even the homes that originally had them changed over to gas. And newer homes are built with gas fireplaces and no chimneys.

Joan Cox that is probably something more prevalent in CO I would say, although in WV (where I am from) they are very popular there too.  Hope you have a fabulous day and I know you will help your buyer find the perfect home!

We had a gas fireplace in a past home and loved it. Was a real asset when power went out.

We have an electric fireplace now in our travel trailer but can only use it when we are somewhere with electricity.

Sharon Tara I could see that being an issue if you aren't around electricity but I think they are all beautiful to look at for sure.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

Hi Norma... I had one house where the formal living room had a gas fireplace and the great room a wood-burning fireplace. Never used either one. Since then my houses have just had gas fireplaces as builders no longer want to build chimneys. One of my clients has put in several electric fireplaces in her restored 1900 home which I'll be listing in the new year and I really like the look of them.

We never turn on our gas fireplace for all intents and purposes.... just too hot. They just serve as a back up if power goes out on a cold day.

Nina Hollander, Broker I can see your point in NC it doesn't get too terribly cold.  We woke up to snow and 32 degree weather this morning so we are utilizing ours.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

Norma,

We have had gas fireplaces thus far in all our homes.  In Los Angeles, in Napa, and here.  We have not used the one here, but did the others especially in Napa. A

I think in my area gas has been more affordable but since I have solar panels on my roof, I might opt for electric.

Brian England we still haven't got that fancy out here in rural TN with the solar panels but that sounds like a great plan to me.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

Norma J. Elkins - Good luck and best wishes on your new home! How exciting!!! I hope everything goes well and that it won't be long before you're in your new home snuggling up by one of multiple firesplaces! I am very happy for you.

I have a wood burning/gas fireplace with chimney. I can run it either way.
