Free COVID-19 Test Kit Distribution, Montgomery County, Maryland

Montgomery County residents will be able to pick up FREE rapid at-home COVID-19 test kits at 19 Montgomery County Public Libraries starting on Monday, January 10, 2022. The kits will be available on a first come, first served basis until supplies run out. https://buff.ly/3HKOUYU.

County to Provide Rapid At-home Test Kits at Libraries
Beginning Monday January 10, 2022

 
To make COVID-19 testing more available, Montgomery County residents can pick up free, rapid at-home test kits at any one of 19 Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) beginning Monday, Jan. 10. The iHealth COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test kits will be available on a first come, first served basis until supplies run out. Residents can receive a maximum of two test kits per person (each containing two tests) per visit.

The tests are recommended for asymptomatic people. People showing symptoms of COVID-19 should NOT go to a library distribution site and should contact their health care provider or make an appointment for a PCR test at one of the many locations providing testing throughout the community.

Library branches distributing kits from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday are:

White Oak

Library branches distributing kits from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday – Thursday
and 2 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday are:

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is offering FREE Taxi Service to COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing for Residents 65+ and Residents with Disabilities!
 
Taxicab companies operating in Montgomery County (Action, Anytime & Regency/Barwood) can provide roundtrip transportation to older adults and residents with disabilities to COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing locations at no cost to the rider. MCDOT will reimburse taxi companies for the trips.
 
To Schedule a Trip:
• Call Connect-A-Ride at (301) 738-3252 and provide your name, address, phone number, age to receive a “Free COVID Taxi Code.”
• Call one of the Taxicab companies listed below and provide the following:
      – Your “Free COVID Taxi Code”
      – Name, phone number, trip information – date, time, origin and destination
• At the end of each trip, the rider signs a trip voucher.
• Drivers and riders must wear face coverings for the duration of the trip.
 
Taxicab providers who are available to provide transportation to COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing locations:

Reimbursements will be the taxi meter rate fare for the trips to and from the COVID Vaccination and Testing locations.
