There are no short cuts in speed skating.
That being said, why do agents travel to outside markets to show properties, knowing full well they are real ill-prepared to open doors for their clients? Recently, I got a request to show a newly listed house.
I set it up with instructions on the eKey location. Last minute, I received a text that said the agent was unable to open the box because she lacks access to the local MLS, asking that the door be left unlocked.
She further stated that they were just at another property and unable to gain access. Is this agent representing the clients fully in her efforts? In my opinion, NO. This is utterly and completely unprofessional!
As an experienced listing agent, the biggest commitment goal is to get the house sold as quickly as possible for the seller. I gladly cooperated with the buyer agent to get her clients inside to view the property.
Speed skaters hone their craft so that everything is streamlined for the best outcome every single time. Training, preparedness, diligence, consistent methods all play a huge role in their overall success.
Would they forget to bring skates for practice or to an important qualifier? Absolutely not! Some people could learn a few lessons in professional standards so they may also effectively achieve the set goal.
Depending on others to fill in the gaps while taking short cuts is irresponsible and bad for business sake!
