A Couple Making An Offer Get Into Heated Argument.

By
Education & Training

Here's a new one.  While writing an offer, the husband and wife get miffed at each other and start disagreeing on how much money is to be spent buying the house they wanted.  It escalated from there to name calling and then silence.  Eventually, they signed off on the offer, but not before changing up the offer to reflect their heated debate.  All I felt I could do was just stand there in the background and wait it out and didn't say a word.

I have definitely been there many times - sometimes, It's even worse when one of the spouses tries to ask you who's side you are on.  Sometimes I wonder if I am a Realtor or marriage counselor ;)

This would be a couple I stayed in touch with so you could list the property when they get divorced.

Robert , you did the best thing taking sides always leads to issues down the road, I think I would have had to retreat to get something from my car while they fought. Steve

Good tactic stay the hell away from joining in, you would end up on one side and then where do you go from there.

Take care!
