An Ode to Love
To love is the purest act a human can perform
It is concerted and cognitive, both from the soul and the mind
Love is pure and cannot be diminished.
If one wishes to love, love shall exist and peace will follow
It can live for lifetimes unattended, then rise again to protect
To love is not to like, it is not to think, it is not to covet
To love is to care for fully, without reserve
If you truly love, your eyes will tear at injustice
And your heart will swell with joy when you see kindness.
Love brings with it a deep longing, improved by proximity and perfected by intimacy.
My wish to all who share this world today,
Is that you exhibit true love from your hearts and your minds
Not only for one another, but for life and all you encounter.
That accomplished, you will find happiness, forever, together.
