14th Annual Brasil Jazz Festa

Our favorite jazz festival, the 14th Annual Brasil Jazz Festa, will take place on Saturday March 12, from 7 to 9 pm.
We have a particular fondness for this event, having attended the first 4 festivals when they were held in Encinitas at the public library starting in 2008. Since then we’ve been to a number of other festas since they moved to Dizzy’s Jazz Club in San Diego.
Over the years we have gotten to know a number of the musicians, and have attended their solo concerts for the San Diego community over the years. I think we’ve only missed a couple of the Brasil Jazz Festa concerts.
The 2021 concert was different due to the pandemic – it was live streamed, and on a smaller scale than in the live concerts. No doubt many are pleased that the concert is returning in 2022 in its usual format.

The Brasil Jazz Festa returns to Dizzy’s Jazz Club and features the following talented musicians:
Peter Sprague’s “Tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim” with Tripp Sprague (sax/flute) and Allison Adams Tucker (producer and vocalist)
Danny Green Trio (Danny Green – Piano; Julien Cantelm – percussion; Justin Grinnell - bass
It’s sure to be a wonderful celebration of Brazilian jazz and culture from some very talented musicians and vocalists, as it has been for the last 13 years!
Dizzy’s Jazz Club is located at 1717 Morena Boulevard, San Diego, off the 5 freeway.
Tickets at $25 may be purchased online here. Seating is reserved in order of ticket purchase. Tickets will be sold at the door unless the event is sold out (cash and Venmo only).
