Color is serious stuff when it comes to selling your house.   Choosing just the right selling colors along with staging your home "the right way" can be the difference between suffering on the market for a year or selling quickly and moving on.

Case in point: Here at Stage a Star...we recently had the privilege of  working with a wonderful couple ready to do whatever was necessary to prepare their home for the Cincinnati real estate market.  They were building and excited about their future in their new dream home but also very motivated to sell quickly to avoid 2 mortgage payments.
Ready to do the majority of the work themselves,we met for a staging consultation to assist these homeowners with a "plan" that would make preparing their home a breeze.

Color your way to "SOLD".....
These homeowners loved bold colors and of course you are going to decorate with the colors that you love. But when selling....those bold, personal colors must be replaced with neutral selling colors that appeal to a broad audience of potential buyers.   So... what's the best selling colors?  Well...part of the staging consultation includes selecting just the right color that works perfect with the property's flooring and wood features.   We also passed on our Sherwin Williams designer discount  and a list of highly recommended painters.  All set with this important color information, our homeowners were able to get started painting right away.

Staging the "Right Way"......
Armed with a detailed plan of the interior & exterior, paint colors we selected with a great paint discount, decor ideas, a repair list, and a highly recommended vendor list, our homeowners were well on their way to staging their home the "Right Way"!   Now with the staging "plan", the process is less stressful, mistake proof, and certainly has been very cost effective. Working with a professional home stager is a smart investment!

On the market just 51 days....these happy homeowners are SOLD and moving on to their wonderful new home!   By the looks of these before and after pictures...you'll see why they were so successful!        (My clients rock!)

Teresa,

Congratulations on this staging success story!  Changing the paint colors in the house to neutralize, really made a huge change in the homes appearance. What a difference you have made in the way this house shows, continued success!

Hey Michelle: These homeowners were great to work with...very eager to do what needed to be done and of course, it paid off!  I believe that if those colors wouldn't of been neutralized...they could possibly still be on the market today instead of SOLD and busy decorating their new home!

Ana: Thanks for stopping by! Always good to see you. :)

Teresa,

What a difference the color change made.  I also like the way the play area was made into an adult space.  Great job!

Kathy: Awww...so honored to be featured. Thank you!  :)

Patty: I am always amazed at the color transfomations too!  Yep..turning the playroom back to the living room was a very important piece of the staging puzzle. It was the first room you saw when entering the house so the "after" made an amazing first impression!

Hi Teresa, did the homeowners stage the place themselves after your consultation?

Teresa, do you have someone you would recommend in my area? My listing in Cuyahoga Falls needs staged. Thanks for the great posts - I will be sending the pix to my clients to help them see what I am talking about. People just don't understand if they are told - we have to show them.

A truly noticable difference Teresa. Did you use rental furniture in the one room at the bottom or was it already in the house in some other space? It looks great!

You can really tell how much larger the den looks without the red paint.  That in itself is amazing without even looking at how well everything else looks.

Dawn: What about Sharon Kreighbaumon with Staged Makeovers?

Kym: Working on those color marketing brochures now...:)

Karen: The homeowners actually purchased the furniture for their new home so it just worked out that the furniture could be used in the staging.

Ronelle: Thanks for stopping by! Yep...changing the paint was key to this successful sale!

Michelle: That paint was actually orange...although it looks red.

Kathi: We used Porter Paint's "Spiced Vinegar".  A really nice shade.
