Daylight Savings Time takes on a new meaning at my house twice a year and requires a day off. In my teens, my mom who passed many years ago, gave me a clock to start this collection. Clocks, Clocks & more Clocks!
This clock needs to be wound, has many moving parts and jewels within. I found the beauty of clocks early on, and have collected them everywhere I have gone. Even some of my clients while traveling abroad have brought back some beauties that I cherish in my collection.
In the left photo, the center crystal cross clock came from Trinity College in Dublin during a wonderful two-week getaway! In the next frame, these beauties were found in the Broadmoor Hotel's gift shop in Colorado Springs during trips for Colorado Realtor State Convention which was always fun! The Grandmother's clock came from a client wanting to move, and no longer wanted this! My gain! I have two kitties, and the kitty clock came from a friend for a birthday present. I have clocks from England, Rome, Hawaii, and Crete in the Mediterranean where the tiles are made by hand.
Almost every clock has a story, where I was, what happened, and why I bought it. Thinking of the wonderful vacations/journeys I took always brings a smile to my face!
Most of the day will be spent changing the time on the clocks (not all have working batteries), and remembering some of the best times in my life!
Over 52 clocks, batteries take on a new meaning too!
It is no wonder being on time is so important to me!
