More Saturday Smiles: Santa Barbara Farmers Market!

March 14, 2020 was the last time we went to the Santa Barbara Farmers Market downtown.  Instead, we patronized our local market in Carpinteria, and the stores that carry organic produce.

This morning we revisited the downtown market.  Ron and I decided that it was still in recovery mode from the two year uncertainty of the pandemic.

 

Pictured above is romanesco broccoli. It was fun seeing familiar faces.  We bought some heirloom garlic, and 3 little gems lettuce.

The romanesco looks good as usual.  We had a nice head last week. Love it lightly steamed with butter and sprinkle of sea salt. I imagine you're busy getting ready for the big bash this weekend.  As for Denver's snow, I think the bulk of it is due to hit tomorrow.

That romanesco broccoli looks wonderful, Alexandra. I've never seen it here in my area, but would certainly buy some to try out if I did. I bought two containers of blue and yellow pansies for my front porch on Friday... and didn't quite focus until yesterday on the fact that they are the Ukrainian colors.
