Serendipity Sunday: Almost White Sunflowers!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

Yesterday, we saw these new variety of sunflowers, while strolling through the Santa Barbara Farmers Market.  They are almost white.  I did a bit of research and found a website that specializes in sunflowers.  They have four pages of different colors.

Sunflower selections have endless choices .  They are easy to grow.  When winter comes, the plants become a bird feeder...

Happy Sunday!

That is different and I wouldn't have thought that was a sunflower but after you mentioned it I can see it.

I love having sunflowers in my garden and have never seen the almost all white ones.  they would definitely make a very good addition.

Hello Alexandra and Ron - whether it's exploring a farmer's market, the aisle of a store or capturing a sight in a garden, flowering plants offer lots of eye-catching moments.

How pretty! I tried growing sunflowers two summers ago and they did not grow but I have a feeling it was the soil. I think I'm going to try again....

Thanks for the inspiration!

Love the white sunflowers, Alexandra. Don't know that I've ever seen any that aren't yellow or gold... now I need to go and do some research to see the other colors.

I enjoy the look of sunflowers Alexandra. We used to have some variations in our backyard until the deer family thought they liked them better than us!

Hi Alexandra,
Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers to grow. I love the giant ones that grow taller than the first floor of the house. I've also grown some of the "Joker" looking sunflowers but I didn't know what they were at the time.  I've never seen the white sunflowers. They are beautiful but not as "happy" looking as the yellow and orange.

Thank you very much for sharing your photograph and the sunflower colors lesson.

Annual sunflowers have been bred to grow beyond the standard sunny yellow blooms, with a new range of colors from golden yellow, orange, and ruby red, to bronze and even white. There are branching varieties with multiple flower heads as well as dwarf cultivars that reach only 1 to 2 feet tall.

So this is interesting...our blue macaw was eating sunflower seeds. A seed must of gotten away from him and popped in another flower bed. A couple weeks later we have a sunflower growing inside our patio...lol

Alexandra like the rest of the comments above I have never seen White Sunflowers only the Yellow and Orange ones.... now with that said I might ask our gardeners if they can come up with growing a couple in our back yard.... provided they do not interfere with the Orange, Tangerine and Lemon  Trees:))Endre
