Wordless Wednesday…Empty Nesters

The bluebird chicks fledged from one of our boxes out at Kickerillo last weekend. Larry likes to remove it, thoroughly clean it and then replace it as soon as he can.

There can be as many as 3 broods in one breeding season which can run through June or July. The pair that had nested in our box has already built a nest in our neighbor's bluebird box.

Can you imagine if your sellers had left their home like this for their buyers???

Adolescence is perhaps nature’s way of preparing parents to welcome the empty nest.  Karen Savage and Patricia Adams

I just saw the dirtiest vacant house I have ever seen. I wonder if a bird owned it.

I think the new brood will appreciate the clean house, but may not be nice enough to keep it clean.

Hi Kathy Streib - Larry does such a nice job with this.  I have had birdhouses sitting in my backyard for years and only have seen 1 nesting. You guys are doing something very special.

Wayne Martin the first time he cleaned a box, I made him wear a "hazmat" suit!

Nina Hollander, Broker I can only imagine!!!

Bill Salvatore - East Valley I would imagine many parents would welcome their own time to themselves.

Brian England I think for a large home, you'd need one of those professional clean-out companies! LOL

Carol Williams Larry did comment that this one was the messiest he'd seen.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400  I have no idea what the boxes look like that aren't cleaned out!  How could the birds stand it!!!

Joan Cox Good memory, Joan. After they hatch, they leave in about 20 days!!!  It does seem pretty quick.

Kathy if a bird box houses 3 broods in one breeding season, can that be considered shared housing?  🤪

I had to smile at Larry's need to clean out the box after it had been vacated.  It sounds like a few listings I've had where a landlord needed to yuck out premises trashed by vacated tenants, prior to putting the home on the market.

We went through the empty nest sadness however we worked for 18 years to build independent adults and it worked 🙂

Hi Kathy - I wonder how many human empty nesters present a challenge because of the condition of their nest after raising a family.

I've seen many a home that the sellers left a mess. It still surprises me. I cannot imagine leaving a home anything but clean for the new owners.
