My Version Of A Refreshed Blog Signature For
activerain
When I first read the March 2022 Challenge hosted by Craig Daniels and Eileen Burns, I looked at my signature and said I seem to have what I needed on it for a potential client to get a hold of me. But the more I studied it and saw what others were doing, I said to myself, I could use a refresh and make it look cleaner. So I decided to study Craig's blog, "How To Create an Effective Blog Signature" to see what I might be missing.
OLD or ORIGINAL Blog Signature
I took the 5 questions that Craig suggested and applied them to my signature.
1. I had the "WHO" listed.
2. The "WHERE" might not be obvious. The only indication was in the wording that showed the website "SellSedona". So I added all the areas that I cover into the signature. I took it one step further and divided Sedona into the communities that are part of Sedona. I have had potential clients ask if "Uptown" or "West Sedona" are separate towns. So I thought I would add these distinct areas of Sedona into the areas served.
3. Another area that was not obvious was "HOW" can I benefit the client. The link at "Sedona Property Solutions" took you to my website but that was not good enough. So I included the page "10 Reasons Why Sheri Sperry is YOUR Solutions REALTOR®" on my AR signature. This is a comprehensive look at what I offer both sellers and buyers. The page breaks it down nicely for a client.
4. "HOW can I be contacted?" This was in the signature. However, I made it even more clear by adding (Contact Form - click here). I also added "Website" in front of "SellSedona.com". Of course, my cellphone number is also easily visible on my signature.
5. "What if I want to read more from you first?" Even though you could access all the info you wanted by going to my website at SellSedona.com. You have to search for it. So I don't think I covered this very well at all in my original signature.
In my updated signature I specifically added a link that states:
"Learn about Sheri @ Sedona-Lifestyle.com." This link gives a good overview of myself. It also provides a lot of other information and links to explore more detail.
UPDATED or REFRESHED Blog Signature
I left the 3 links below my website on the Refreshed Blog Signature and I added the more familiar Social Media Icons to click on. I got rid of the "Follow Me On Twitter @SellSedona" and the icon for FB that says "like me". Also gone is the "Increase Your Business!" link.
Check for Broken Links
My husband, who built his own website, also maintains my website. He will randomly go through different pages and look for updated material and broken links. Well, there were 3 broken links on my signature that are now updated.
My signature is not set up quite like some of the others I have seen. It is my opinion that most people will scroll through to get the information they need. I set my website signature up so that the information is in line and can be scrolled. I enlarged my business card and as I update my photo, which is in the works, I can update the entire card with the new photo.
Also, I have the links going directly to information on my website. This is where I want people to come.
Thank You, Craig!
I appreciate all the tips that Craig has provided. Especially the 5 questions and the blog on Social Media Icons. I would not have added those, without his help in locating those icons. Two of the icons were only in black so I made them grey by decreasing the exposure.
