Get After It: The Dangers of Avoiding Strangers

Real Estate Agent with Big Block Realty 858.232.8722 CA BRE# 01261476

Your action for today

is to make a connection

with a stranger.

I was challenged to do this

in a shopping mall at a networking-

training a few years back.

Meet 5 strangers in the mall,

introduce myself and...

exchange business cards.

Only the first one was terrifying!

It is definitely more difficult to meet strangers these days, even exchanging a smile or saying hello in passing seems to be frowned upon, haha.

Brian England that's true. In some ways I find it easier through social media, I meet new peeps daily in LinkedIn but in "real life" not as often as I used to. The pandemic took that challenge to the next level.

I try to make contact with people walking in my area.

I feel safer doing that, these days.

I agree faye schubert - the easiest way I used to meet strangers was walking my dog, he was my ambassador to strangers becoming acquaintances and a couple time becoming clients!

Hello Thomas,  I think that is a good goal to do but some people may look at you funny.  I will try it.

Hi Thomas- it's how I grew up here in Houston...you are friendly to everyone you meet. In today's world, though, I can see why some might be more cautious.
