Buyers sometimes feel obligated to use a friend or family member who is a non-local real estate agent to purchase a home. While this is certainly an honorable act, it can be detrimental to protecting their best interests. Realtor Melanie Cameron shares why using an agent from out of the area is usually not the best choice.

Great post, Melanie! And so true! Like NC, Arizona is a large state with two large and several smaller metropolitan areas. There is NO WAY you can know all of the intricacies and nuances of each market. What I have done is cultivated fellow realtors from different parts of the state to assist on a referral basis with any buyers looking in their particular area. They have reciprocated in kind over the years. It's a much better way to go for the buyers.
