Buyers sometimes feel obligated to use a friend or family member who is a non-local real estate agent to purchase a home. While this is certainly an honorable act, it can be detrimental to protecting their best interests. Great post, Melanie! And so true! Like NC, Arizona is a large state with two large and several smaller metropolitan areas. There is NO WAY you can know all of the intricacies and nuances of each market. What I have done is cultivated fellow realtors from different parts of the state to assist on a referral basis with any buyers looking in their particular area. They have reciprocated in kind over the years. It's a much better way to go for the buyers.
