It was NOT a Good Day

When it's dark in the room it's not a good time to reach for the eye drops.

I can't really fault the lighting as much as not using enough common sense to look at what I was doing.

All three bottles were on my desktop... I grabbed the wrong one.

Boy did that HURT! Really!

Fortunately I realized my mistake as soon as the glue hit my eye so I held my eye open (with my fingers) and made my way to the eye Dr. next door to my office.

It hurt like hell all day yesterday and it's a bit sore today but thanks to Dr. Jason Bradley at Century Eyewear it's on the fast track to healing.

So we all wonder why they put those stupid labels on products like "Don't stick this in you eye"... now you know. BTW Dr. Bradley assured me I was not the first and that it happens more often then you would know.

My lesson learned: Only purchase crazy glue in the tube and don't keep it anywhere near your eyecare products. 🧐

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! I am truly amazed that I am not blind to9day. I know for sure I would be in trouble today if the eye Dr. was not right next door and familiar with this exact problem.

Good advice Kathy Streib . I'm sure there are a lot of spouses that wish their mates would have there lips sealed but it would be no laughing matter.

It's much, much better than Monday Nina Hollander, Broker and the eye Dr. feels it should be healed by tomorrow. The best way to keep it soothed is to keeps the lights down a bit, use an abundance of eye drops and of course it doesn't hurt to look at my screen saver of you my Dear.

It was/is truly a blessing Kat Palmiotti to have the eye Dr. right next door. As far as being comfortable the worst is in the morning when some of the lingering glue stuck in my eye lashes let lose and gets into my eye. It's quit abrasive.

I am doing remarkably well Brian England . I am amazed that the damage was not permeant but I'm sure glad that it isn't and that I am healing so quickly. I think had I not reacted so fast and got to the eye Dr. right away there would have been more sever damage.

Hi Roy Kelley . The names are tough ones.

1) loteprednol etabonate ophthalic gel 0.38%

2) erythromycin ophthalmic ointment .5%

3) latanoprost ophthalmic solution .005%

It seems to me I'm missing one but I think that covers the stuff he put in my eye. He was also able to scrape stuff off and the he had a contact lens that was a medicated bandage.

The main thing is that you and your eyesight survived the glue onslaught and are well despite the pain. Hope the soreness is gone now.

That sounds like it could have been a disastrous mistake, Bob.  Oddly enough, I almost made a similar mistake last year.  Only, the bottle I mistook for eye drops was ear drops instead.

Myrl Jeffcoat I am still amazed that I did not lose my ey to that mistake. I was really lucky to have my eye Dr. less than 100 feet away and that had experience in this matter already.
