This Week…Celebrating Champions…On the Court and From the Past
This has been a busy week for us! Normal stuff and good things but it seemed as if we looked up and the week was over.
Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip. Winston Churchill
I’ve included quotes from Winston Churchill because it was on this day…April 9, 1963… Sir Winston was made an honorary citizen of the United States by President Kennedy.
The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes. Winston Churchill
Monday night was a late night while we sat on the edge of our chairs to watch the Kansas Jayhawks win the National Title. Our neighbor was so excited he came over after the game for a celebratory drink!
We are masters of the unsaid words, but slaves of those we let slip out. Winston Churchill
Were it not for the strong winds we’ve had this week, the Jayhawk flag would still be flying in our front yard.
We are still monitoring the bluebird boxes at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. The chicks should fledge in one and hatch soon in another.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, it’s also what it takes to sit down and listen. Winston Churchill
My neighbor told us that the eggs in his bluebird box haven’t hatched yet…past due. And would you believe that he thinks there are two female bluebirds hanging out at his box?
Do not let spacious plans for a new world divert your energies from saving what is left of the old. Winston Churchill
This may explain why we’ve been seeing a female pecking at our window and at our neighbor’s bathroom window! And, why daddy bluebird looks worn out.
If you are going through hell, keep going. Winston Churchill
Have a championship weekend!
