The first half hour of the show was marred by rain, tut it soon cleared up.  Owners of the classic cars could be seen wiping the raindrops off their beloved automobiles!

Brian ~ I love the photos. What beauties. They don't make cars like that anymore. American pride. The way it used to be.

Nicholas, those are the kind of cars that can get me excited!  You're right - solid American pride.

Jennifer, I've seen your posts.  I like to get to as many of the local classic car shows as I can, too!

Hi Brian...it looks like there was a huge turnout! What is the shelf on the back of the robins egg blue(buick?)car?

Beautiful photos, Brian. I especially love the colours of these oldies. My Dad, brother and I were discussing this a few days ago. My favourite colours for old cars are creamy coral and the blue of the car in your picture. Is that a cadillac?

Joan, it was a great turnout, especially considering the iffy weather.  The robin's egg blue car is a 1957 Cadillac.  The "shelf" in back is a bumper extension to provide the base for the Continental kit, which is a matching covered spare tire.

Ray, I definitely love the classic cars.  I've done a number of blogs on the car shows in my area of south centra PA.

Hi Jo,

Yep, it's a 1957 Caddy!  I love the robin's egg blue, too, and the other pastel colors of the 1950s automobiles.  My Dad had a turquoise 1954 Oldsmobile that was quite attractive, too.  I also was fond of the two-tone combinations, like coral and gray, which the Chrysler, Plymouth, DeSoto and Dodge used.

Brian,

I was born in '58 and my Dad was and is a real car buff. My Mother says that by the time I was two I could name almost any car on the road as my Dad was fond of leisurely drives on Sunday afternoons and always pointed out the types of cars to me as we journeyed along. Both of my brothers are avid car buffs too.

I bet your Dad's car was a real beauty...do you have any pictures?

Jo, I do have old photos of the '54 Olds, and have also collected models, toys and art of it.  Of course,  none of the photos are digital, so I can't post them.  (I'm reluctant to use anything off the internet due to all the talk about copyrights.)
