Here is my entry to the April Challenge sponsored by Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 and Debe Maxwell, CRS "What Active Rain Means to Me." Follow my story as I begin from top left on the collage.
My story begins in August 2011, when Debbie Gartner told me about Active Rain, sponsored me, and helped me get started. What she described as a way to get recognized with SEO turned in to so much more. I started going to meetups when Debbie told me she was giving a presentation at Dagny Eason 's meetup in Connecticut. It turned out to be a very large turnout where I met so many people (more about that later) that is was like going to a chamber networking group.
Debbie had her own in White Plains and some more familiar faces showed up-- Joanna Cohlan and Hillary Sheperd .
Back at Dagny Eason 's I met two wonderful Active Rain members George Souto and Ed Silva . In the second row left you can see that Ed is really overwhelmed with all of the food at Dagny's buffet.
Next I miss Gabe Sanders on Active Rain. He is in Stuart Florida where my sister and brother live. I asked Gabe to represent me in find a house near them. We knew what we wanted and Gabe delivered. We had our house in one afternoon.
Bob Crane was in New York during one of Dagny's meetups and drove several hundred miles to attend.
I hosted a meetup in White Plains and was happy to have Kat Palmiotti and Debbie Gartner attend.
August 2017, I finally got to meet Kathy Streib at her meetup in Delray Beach. So many wonderful Active Rainers were there and I got to meet Lou Ludwig .
I hosted another one in White Plains the same month and Wayne Zuhl and wife Jean were there along with our other familiar faces.
I could not fit another picture onto the collage but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the meetup in Boston in November 2018 hosted by Lisa Von Domek .
Active Rain means several things to me but most of all it is the fun friends I have made along the way.
