I just wanted to share today's experience trying to schedule showings on homes.....I know we have all heard some crazy reason's why we can not get an appointment set.....and having a new Agent as a partner makes it a bit worse, as he just looks at me and says....Why do they have it listed?
Here is today's list.....feel free to add you own...
The cat is not feeling well and dosen't want visitors....he just came home from he hospital.
The Owners are on vacation and don't want the home shown while they are away. (is there a better time?)
We just had family over the weekend and the home is a mess.....(Hello, I wanted Wednesday not Monday....)
Thanks for letting me share, have a great day everyone.

the sellers need to be told when the agent takes the listing that the house has to be avaliable for showings at all times, no matter what..this is what I tell my sellers...
Wow....those answers would blow me away. I agree with Michael, if its listed, showings take priority over just about everything.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? What will these lovely sellers be like when an offer comes in? Can't look at it right now - kitty is throwing up a hairball! Yikes!
I had a listing and my sellers wouldn't show it because the baby was napping. That buyer was in from out of town and had to decide that night. They saw a home around the corner that evening and put in a great offer on that one instead of ours. My guy was kicking himself.
Mike,
100% correct.....cooperation is the name of the game.
Stuart,
I know of a few more, I am just waiting to see if others have them or different ones....they make you laugh, unless you are the Agent trying to do business.
Patricia,
The cat must be on the Title.....people keep us on our toe's......we have to continue to create ways to overcome some of the most off the wall comments from our Clients in order to do what is best for them......CRAZY
Tim,
That one always gets me too.....I understand the baby, however when explained who is seeing and the time constraints, why not let them in.....I have shown homes w/sleeping babies and they never woke up.
Dan - People who put their home on the market and then frustrate the agent with excuses for not having a showing usually complaint the loudest when the agent reduces or stops the advertising of their home.
Barrie,
I agree 100%......I have one right now that we have that issue with and I am ready to cut them loose....its crazy. If I am not doing my job, then you are ok to tell me so....however, if has nothing to do with me then I do not need to hear that.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week.
