Weather... Let's Talk About It And Get Over It

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart

Is complaining about the weather a pastime or just plain silly? I have already heard people whining about summer here in Phoenix. Over my 42 years as a Realtor when someone says something about the heat to me, I say: do you want to move? That usually ends that subject right away. Because I can politely explain California your gasoline is $50. Per week higher than Phoenix. Somewhere around $1.25 to $2.00, just look at the news and see what is going on in California.

I have helped almost a dozen families relocate here from California, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma, in the past month.  All were looking forward to the work they were here for, a couple questioned the heat, when I explained what I have written about here in this post, they seem content.

There is Florida if you like humidity. You see I can play golf in Phoenix at 112 degrees, and it is so dry there is no sweat running into my eyes I just keep plenty of cold water to drink.

As for those who feel Phoenix is too hot, we recently have seen air conditioning installed at the baseball park, football park, all grocery stores, homes, churches, and most automobiles, and it is never more than a twenty-five to fifty-second walk from the car to either of those.

So, let’s look forward to the next season we are given to be alive and live with. I noticed yesterday that in a city in China they have everyone staying inside their homes, they can’t leave because of Covid. We are blessed, folks!

I hope you experience the greatest spring and most marvelous summer ever.

I hope your day is as great as mine

It is only 80-86 degrees here today. Rain was great last night and nice this morning...

It's all in what you get used to. However, I doubt I will ever get used to air conditioning. When I went to Florida for a writers' bootcamp I thought I would turn into a popscicle. Every time a class let out I ran outside to get some warm.

In winter I put on a coat to go outside. In summer I put on a coat to go inside - or in the car with my husband!
